The Forbidden Rites

Some rites were never taught. They were scratched onto barn walls, tucked behind the hearth and passed from one woman to the next in a whisper, because saying them aloud could get you burned.

The Forbidden Rites is my collection of the old, sharp workings: bindings, silencings, banishments and hexes. They come from fragments of the Scandinavian black books, from legal curses and witness accounts in the old witch trials, and from what the women in my line kept to themselves. I have written them out so they can be worked today, with the old logic left intact.

This is not polite witchcraft. These are rites for the gossip who will not stop, the rival who lingers on your land, and the one who will not leave you in peace.
