Help & FAQ
The work has its mysteries. The practical details should be clear.
Here you will find answers about choosing a piece, spirit companions, prepared workings, books, shipping and orders. Read the listing for the item that has caught your attention, too: its particular instructions matter.
If you are looking for the story behind the work, visit About Hazel. If you are finding your way around the house, begin with Start Here.
Before you choose
What will I find at Grimrunes?
Grimrunes brings together several kinds of work. Spellbound pieces are physical objects prepared around a particular purpose or current. Spirit vessels belong to the companion side of the work, where the focus is relationship, contact and keeping. Deity portals are pieces prepared around a named deity or power, for devotional practice and focused contact.
You will also find grimoires, teachings, working materials and artefacts. These are not interchangeable. The individual listing explains what is being offered and what you receive.
I am new here. Where should I begin?
Begin with Start Here. It introduces the different parts of Grimrunes without asking you to understand the whole house at once.
You do not need a family history like mine to begin a practice of your own. Read carefully, follow the subjects that hold your attention, and choose according to what an item actually offers.
Will I receive the exact object in the photographs?
When a listing states that you receive the exact pendant or object shown, that is the piece offered. For materials described as individually selected or naturally varied, such as certain stones, the listing explains the variation.
Read the contents and description of the particular listing rather than assuming every item in the shop is supplied in the same way.
Why do some pieces have the same name or description?
The same spell or portal may be offered through several different, individual pieces of jewellery. The working can be the same while the physical piece is different.
Matching titles do not mean that the photographs are interchangeable. Choose the listing for the piece you wish to receive, and check its description.
Is there an age requirement?
Yes. Purchases from Grimrunes are for adults aged 18 and over.
Workings & prepared objects
Do I have to cast the spell myself?
A prepared object and a book of workings are different things. A spellbound piece is offered with the work described in its listing; a grimoire or teaching may contain practices for you to carry out yourself.
Some objects bind on first touch. Others have instructions about wearing, keeping or using them. Read the particular listing and the information supplied with your order. There is no single activation method for everything in Grimrunes.
What does “binds on first touch” mean?
Where this is stated in the listing, first touch is the binding step described for that piece. It matters who handles it first.
Do not apply this rule to every item in the shop. Follow the instructions for the object you have chosen.
Can I buy a piece as a gift?
Read the handling instructions before opening or touching it. For pieces explicitly described as binding to the first hand, the intended recipient must be the first person to touch the object. Do not handle one yourself before giving it away.
Other items may have different instructions. Check the individual listing before choosing a gift.
Do I need to wear it all the time?
Follow the instructions for that particular piece. The listings specify when an object is intended to be worn, carried, kept nearby or used in another way.
Instructions for one pendant, portal or prepared material should not be treated as instructions for all of them.
Do you offer retrieval or removal?
Yes. I offer retrieval or removal. To request this, send a clear photograph of the crystal or object on a plain white background to hazel@grimrunes.com.
Make sure the whole object is clearly visible, and include a short note explaining what you are requesting. Add your order number if you have it.
Do you guarantee a result or a particular timeframe?
No. I do not guarantee a particular outcome, a deadline for a result, or a paranormal experience. The purpose described for a working is not a promise that a specific event will happen.
Please choose with that understanding, rather than ordering on the assumption that an outcome can be guaranteed.
Can this work replace professional help?
No. My items, books and workings are not substitutes for medical or mental-health care, diagnosis, treatment, or qualified financial or legal advice. Please seek the appropriate professional help for those matters.
Metaphysical items are sold for entertainment purposes, without a guarantee of supernatural effects.
Spirit companions
What should I read before choosing a spirit companion?
Read the full description, not only the name and the image. Each listing sets out the information available about that companion, including the nature of the relationship and any particular practices or offerings described.
The spirit side of Grimrunes is about relationship, attention and boundaries. A purchase is not a promise of immediate communication or a particular experience.
How soon will I sense or communicate with a companion?
There is no fixed timetable. The listings describe connection as individual, and I do not guarantee when, how, or whether you will experience communication.
Another keeper's experience is not a schedule for your own.
What forms of communication do the listings describe?
Within this practice, communication is described in forms such as dreams, impressions, feelings, inner images, pendulum work and automatic writing. The descriptions also refer to words or telepathic impressions.
These are descriptions of spiritual practice, not a guarantee that any particular experience will occur.
Can you send more information or additional images of a spirit?
The spirit's listing contains the information known and available about that companion. I do not have an additional private biography or further spirit images to send beyond what is provided there.
A printed copy of the listed information accompanies the physical order. What you discover through your own practice is your own experience; it is not additional information I am withholding from the listing.
Grimoires & digital downloads
Am I buying a physical book or a digital file?
Check the format stated in the listing. A title offered as a PDF or digital download is delivered digitally, not as a printed book through the post.
The individual listing tells you what is included. Do not assume that additional audio, workbooks or other materials are part of a purchase unless they are listed.
How do I receive my digital purchase?
Use the download instructions sent to the email address used for your order. Please check that address carefully when ordering, and keep the delivery email so you can find your files.
I cannot find or open my download. What should I do?
First check the inbox, spam and junk folders for the email address used at checkout. If the download is still missing or a link will not open, contact me with your order number and the title you purchased.
If an error message appears, include its wording or a screenshot. You do not need to place another order simply to report an access problem.
Orders, shipping & discount codes
Will instructions come with my physical order?
Physical orders include a printed copy of the information described in their listings. Keep that information with the piece, particularly where it explains first-touch binding, wearing, keeping or use.
The instructions supplied for your particular item are the ones to follow. This FAQ does not replace them.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes. I offer free shipping to the destinations currently available through checkout. Enter your actual delivery address to check the available shipping options for your order.
If checkout does not offer shipping to your address, please contact me rather than selecting a different country to complete the order.
Can I track my parcel?
Most physical items are sent with tracking. Use the tracking information supplied for your shipment to follow its progress.
If you cannot find that information, or the shipment appears to have a problem, contact me with your order number. Digital products do not travel by post.
I need an item for a particular date. What should I do?
Check the listing for any preparation or pre-order information. If arrival by a particular date matters, ask before ordering rather than assuming it can be guaranteed.
Include the item and the destination country in your question so I can address the actual order you are considering.
How does the OLDWORLD code work?
OLDWORLD gives 45% off eligible items, with a minimum quantity of three. It applies to selected collections, not automatically to every product in the shop.
Add the pieces you are considering, enter OLDWORLD at checkout, and check which items qualify and what discount is shown before paying.
How does the GRIMOIRE code work?
GRIMOIRE gives 20% off eligible items in its selected collections. It is a separate offer from OLDWORLD, with its own eligibility.
The two codes are not two names for the same promotion. Enter the relevant code and check the discount displayed for your order before paying.
My parcel is missing, damaged or contains the wrong item. How do I get help?
Please contact me with your order number and a clear description of the problem. For damage or an incorrect item, photographs of the item and packaging, where available, help me understand what has happened.
For a missing parcel, include any tracking information you have. Use the Contact page or email hazel@grimrunes.com.
How do I ask to change, cancel or return an order?
Email hazel@grimrunes.com with your order number and a clear explanation of the change, cancellation or return you are requesting.
Nothing in this FAQ limits your statutory consumer rights. This practical contact guidance is not a complete statement of the terms that apply to cancellation, withdrawal or returns.
Hazel, the work & getting in touch
Do you make custom spells for personal problems?
I do not make custom spells for personal issues through requests by message. The work offered through Grimrunes is described in the available listings.
Please read what a piece offers rather than purchasing it on the assumption that it will be changed to address a different situation.
Will you share the workings you keep guarded?
No. The teachings I offer and the knowledge I keep within my tradition are not the same thing. The books contain the material described in their listings; buying one does not include access to every private working behind my practice.
Grimrunes of Ældra Kyn remains guarded. I work with it through prepared objects, but I do not publish or sell the working itself. Some doors are open here. Others remain mine to keep.
Where can I read about your background and bloodline?
About Hazel is where I speak about the inheritance behind my work, the Galdrahald Grimoire, the Æsirblot Coven and the knowledge I carry from those before me.

What should I include when I contact you?
For an existing purchase, include your order number, the item or book concerned, and your question. For a question about something in the shop, include its name or a link to the listing.
Please check the listing and the relevant answers here first. You can then use the Contact page or email hazel@grimrunes.com.
