Grimrunes Kin
Real witchcraft. The old Nordic kind.
In the old North, your kin were the people who knew your real name and came when you called.
Grimrunes Kin is where I gather mine. Once a month I take them a little further into the old craft, one part at a time, with everything my line kept around it. It is for those of you who have read my books and want what was never written in them.
Those on the list get in first. On 10 November the door opens for you twelve hours before it opens for anyone else.
The first hundred through the door get a founding price.
What Kin is
For years I have written black books, spirit notes and the odd letter to you. Grimrunes Kin is where I teach the living craft itself. Each month we take one subject and go all the way down: what was found in the bogs and the trial records, what my line kept, and what you do with your own hands, at your own door.
What comes each month
The opening. A story from the old North, and the find behind it.
What the line knows. The rules my family kept, and the reasons for them.
The workings. What to gather, when to begin, the words to say, and what to do if it goes wrong.
Every month holds many PDFs and audio, and later there will be video as well. The pages are made to be printed. Many of you will keep them month after month, until they become a grimoire of your own.
Behind the door
The library. Nothing is taken down. Every month goes into the Kin library, and the whole library is yours from the day you come in: the months before you, and every month still to come. It keeps growing for as long as there are things my line knows.
The Crossroads. A forum for members only. My kin meet there, ask their questions, compare notes and share their own work, away from the noise of everywhere else.
First through the door. Kin often hear of new work before anyone else, and often get the first chance at it: new black books, limited pieces from my worktable, and things that are made only once.
Things I come across. Some months I simply drop in with something new, because I have just found it: a page from an old record, a charm I had half forgotten, a story that will not wait for its month.
A gift by post. When you have been with me for three months, I send you a small working tool by post, a gift from me to your work. You will reach for it in many different workings, and you cannot buy it in my shop.
The first three months
These are the first three subjects, and this is how far we go into each.
Familiars and spirit work. We go deep. Where the familiar comes from, in the old North and in the trial records. How a familiar finds you, how it is kept from day to day, what it asks of you and what you owe it. The rules my line holds around it, the workings, and what to do if something goes wrong.
Graveyard work. The churchyard in old Nordic belief and in the old customs of death. How to go in and how to come home, how to find and work with your own dead, what graveyard dirt is and what it is for, and the workings from the first step to the last.
Love magic from the black books. Love magic as it was written in the black books, from the gentle workings to the old binds my great-grandmother knew. The history behind them, the charms themselves, what each one asks of you, and why my line left some of them alone.
After that come names and binding, blood, the bog, the völva, the hidden folk. The house has a great many rooms, and you are never finished here.
The founding price
The first hundred through the door are my founding kin.
$19 a month, or $190 for a whole year, which gives you two months free.
Take the whole year, and Sortebog No. 3, Of Beasts, comes with it.
Founding kin keep their price for as long as they stay.
When the hundred are in, the founding price is gone.
Questions
Do I need experience?
No. You need to be willing to do the work with your own hands. If you have read my black books, you will find their roots here, but you do not need to have read anything.
Is it safe?
Every working comes with a way to close it, and a way back if something goes wrong. I teach the old rules so that you understand them, not so that you are afraid of them.
Where does it live?
Here on grimrunes.com, behind your own login. Read it on your phone, or print the pages.
Can I leave?
Whenever you like. Cancel from your account, and you will not be charged again.
What do you promise?
To teach you what my line knows, as plainly as I can. What the work does in your life is between you and the work.
