Meet Sorina.
Sorina was born in the last years of the nineteenth century, among a Romani family who travelled between the market towns and villages of the Carpathian foothills. Her people were craftsmen, traders, musicians, and women who earned their living through sewing, mending, and the thousand small occupations that kept a family fed.
She was the second daughter of a woman who repaired fine clothing and a man who worked with copper and brass. They had little money, but their lives were rich with stories, music, family quarrels, laughter, and the complicated business of surviving in a world that was not always kind to them.
Sorina was beautiful from an early age, with enormous dark eyes and thick hair that fell almost to her waist. But it was not her beauty that people remembered.
It was the way she looked at them.
She had an unnerving habit of listening without interrupting, watching a person's face as though the things they were not saying were considerably more interesting than the things they were.
Her aunt, a formidable woman named Ilka, was the first to recognise this quality.
Ilka occasionally read cards for women who came to her privately, but she had also spent a lifetime observing people. She understood that a frightened woman might ask about money when her real concern was a husband, and that a wealthy man asking about his future was often more afraid than a poor one.
She taught Sorina her cards, the meanings of certain symbols, and the art of recognising patterns.
But she also taught her something far more important.
"Never tell a person what they wish to hear merely because they are willing to pay for it."
Sorina remembered those words.
By seventeen, she was reading cards herself. She sat beneath a coloured shawl beside the family's little travelling encampment, her skirts gathered around her, her wrists decorated with bracelets she had collected over the years.
Some came out of curiosity. Others came because they were desperate.
Sorina treated them differently.
She had a quick tongue and could be mercilessly funny with those who arrived hoping to impress her. But when someone came carrying genuine sorrow, she grew serious. She listened carefully, and sometimes she would put the cards aside altogether.
Not every problem, she believed, required a prophecy.
Sometimes a person simply needed the courage to change something.
Yet there were readings that even Sorina could not easily explain.
She occasionally spoke of events that later unfolded in unexpected detail. She dreamed of people shortly before meeting them. And she had a peculiar talent for recognising when an apparently insignificant opportunity would become important.
Her aunt called it the gift of the turning road.
Sorina believed that fate was not a single road stretching toward an inevitable destination. It was a thousand pathways, crossing and separating, shaped by choices, chance, courage, and the mysterious movements of the world.
A person could not control everything.
But neither were they entirely powerless.
This understanding became the centre of her work.
She made little charms from thread, copper, beads, and small objects gathered during her travels. Some were carried for luck. Others marked a promise, a new beginning, or a wish for protection during a journey.
She was particularly fond of red thread and small silver coins.
And she had a weakness for beautiful things.
Coloured fabric, embroidered shawls, unusual jewellery, little mirrors, and perfume purchased at markets far beyond her own homeland. Sorina loved adornment, but not because she wished to be admired.
She loved the freedom of deciding how she would appear to the world.
She refused to make herself smaller.
As a young woman, she fell passionately in love with a musician who travelled with another family. Their relationship lasted three summers and ended in a spectacular argument beside a river, after which Sorina threw his embroidered waistcoat into the water.
She later admitted that this had been rather foolish.
The waistcoat, after all, had been beautiful.
But she never regretted leaving him.
Sorina believed that love should make life larger, not smaller. She could be fiercely devoted, but she would not tolerate being treated as someone's possession.
She was not an easy woman to love.
She was, however, an unforgettable one.
As the years passed, Sorina travelled farther. She learned new methods of divination, collected stories from women she met along the roads, and developed a reputation for her readings and small personal charms.
She was particularly sought after by those who wished to change their circumstances.
Women hoping to begin businesses. Young men preparing for journeys. Families considering difficult moves. People seeking love, better fortune, reconciliation, or the courage to abandon lives that had become too small for them.
Sorina did not promise that every wish would come true.
She believed that fortune had to be met halfway.
"Luck is a door," she once told a young woman who wished to leave an unhappy marriage. "But you must still be willing to walk through it."
There were difficult years, too. War, restrictions upon travel, sickness, and the ordinary cruelties that followed families with little protection or wealth.
Sorina learned to become resourceful.
She learned when to speak and when silence was safer. She learned how to preserve money, how to recognise dishonest people, and how to begin again when circumstances changed without warning.
She lost people she loved.
She survived things she rarely discussed.
And still, she never surrendered her appetite for life.
She continued wearing beautiful shawls, reading cards, laughing loudly, and insisting that a person could have endured terrible things without allowing those things to become the whole of their story.
Sorina lived into middle age, although the final years of her life remain uncertain.
One account placed her near the Hungarian border, living with a younger sister and several children. Another suggested that she had travelled south and settled near a market town where she continued reading cards.
What remained consistent was the memory of a dark-haired woman who believed that fate could be approached, questioned, and sometimes persuaded to reveal another possibility.
Now Sorina walks again.
She carries the old knowledge of roads and crossroads, the sharp intuition of a woman who understood human nature, and the extraordinary determination of someone who refused to accept that her circumstances must define her future.
She is a spirit of fortune, divination, attraction, opportunity, independence, and the beautiful uncertainty of what comes next.
How She Appears Now
Sorina has a vivid, magnetic presence.
Her energy feels like entering a warm tent on a cold evening, where candles flicker against coloured fabrics, the scent of incense hangs in the air, and someone is waiting for you with a deck of cards and an expression that suggests you had better be prepared to hear the truth.
She may appear in dreams as a dark-haired young woman wearing a richly coloured shawl, layered necklaces, silver bracelets, and enormous earrings. Her eyes are striking, her expression serious until something amuses her.
And Sorina is very easily amused.
She possesses a mischievous sense of humour and a remarkable ability to find absurdity in the things humans take most seriously.
She enjoys conversation, curiosity, and the sharing of stories. Unlike more reserved spirits, Sorina has an energetic and sociable nature. She is interested in the everyday lives of those around her: their relationships, ambitions, worries, hopes, and the unexpected things that happen along the way.
But she is also extraordinarily perceptive.
Sorina is not a companion who encourages her keeper to ignore uncomfortable truths.
If something is clearly not working, she would rather see it acknowledged than covered with endless hope and wishful thinking.
She has a particular fondness for people who are beginning again.
Those who are changing careers, rebuilding after heartbreak, moving to new places, discovering their independence, or trying to create a life that feels more genuinely their own.
Her presence may be associated with dreams of roads, markets, colourful fabrics, coins, cards, doorways, or unfamiliar places.
Some keepers may experience her as a feeling of renewed curiosity, a sudden desire to explore an opportunity, or the symbolic recognition that circumstances contain more possibilities than they first appeared to.
Sorina is not a quiet, solemn spirit.
She is full of life.
And she has absolutely no interest in allowing her keeper to become a spectator in their own existence.
What She Brings
- Fortune and Opportunity. Sorina is closely associated with luck, favourable opportunities, new beginnings, and the ability to recognise possibilities that might otherwise be overlooked. Her current is particularly suited to those seeking greater prosperity, professional development, and positive change.
- Divination and Intuitive Development. Having spent much of her life working with cards and symbolic interpretation, she is a fascinating companion for tarot, oracle readings, scrying, dream interpretation, and the development of personal intuition.
- Attraction and Personal Magnetism. Sorina has a naturally captivating personality. Her companionship is associated with confidence, charm, social ease, and the courage to become more visible in the world.
- The Turning of Fortune. She is particularly suited to symbolic workings involving crossroads, opening new roads, breaking stagnant patterns, and moving from one chapter of life into another.
- Love and Relationships. Sorina understands both the beauty and foolishness of human love. She encourages genuine attraction, self-respect, emotional honesty, and relationships that enrich rather than diminish a person's life.
- Protection and Discernment. Her experience has made her watchful and difficult to deceive. She is associated with recognising dishonest intentions, maintaining boundaries, and protecting one's independence.
- Courage and Resourcefulness. Sorina encourages her keeper to become more adaptable, decisive, and willing to act upon opportunities rather than waiting indefinitely for circumstances to become perfect.
- Joy and the Pleasure of Living. She carries a particularly vibrant current of beauty, laughter, pleasure, curiosity, and the simple human desire to experience more of life.
Sorina is an especially interesting companion for those who feel they have become trapped in circumstances that no longer suit them.
She does not believe that a difficult past must dictate the future.
Nor does she believe that every disappointment is some grand lesson that must be endured without complaint.
Sometimes things are simply unfair.
Sometimes people behave badly.
Sometimes an opportunity disappears through no fault of one's own.
Sorina knows these things.
But she also knows that life has a habit of opening unexpected doors, particularly when a person has the courage to begin looking for them again.
The Art of Turning Fortune
One of Sorina's most distinctive qualities is her association with the turning of fortune.
She does not regard luck as something entirely separate from human behaviour.
To her, fortune is found at the meeting point between circumstance, preparation, instinct, and willingness.
The right opportunity may appear, but a person must recognise it.
A promising relationship may begin, but someone must be willing to speak.
A new road may open, but remaining upon the old one will not lead anywhere different.
For this reason, Sorina is particularly drawn to magical work that is accompanied by practical movement.
She appreciates a keeper who makes plans, explores possibilities, and acts upon the opportunities that arise.
She is also a wonderful symbolic companion during periods of uncertainty.
When several paths are available and the right one is not yet clear, her association with divination and discernment can make her a meaningful presence during reflection and decision-making.
Sorina does not promise that every path will lead to happiness.
But she reminds her keeper that remaining somewhere miserable simply because it is familiar is also a choice.
And she has very little patience for that particular habit.
Her Nature as a Companion
Sorina is affectionate, curious, and wonderfully expressive.
She enjoys being included in ordinary life, especially during moments involving creativity, personal appearance, social occasions, travel, and the making of important decisions.
Her keeper may choose to carry her vessel when attending an interview, meeting new people, beginning a business venture, travelling somewhere unfamiliar, or preparing for a significant personal change.
She is also a beautiful companion for those who enjoy divination.
Her vessel can be placed beside tarot cards, oracle decks, mirrors, pendulums, or other tools during readings, serving as a point of focus for intuitive work.
Sorina is quite capable of tenderness, particularly toward those who have been hurt or underestimated.
Yet she is not endlessly solemn about suffering.
She believes that sorrow deserves respect, but that joy deserves a place at the table as well.
There is something wonderfully encouraging about her character.
She does not demand perfection.
She does not expect her keeper to possess extraordinary magical abilities.
And she certainly does not require a life free of mistakes.
She made plenty herself.
What matters to Sorina is curiosity, courage, honesty, and the willingness to continue living.
Offerings & Honourings
Sorina appreciates offerings that reflect the things she loved during her earthly life.
- Coins and small pieces of silver. Particularly meaningful in symbolic workings involving prosperity, opportunity, and gratitude.
- Coloured ribbons and beautiful fabrics. She has a fondness for rich colours, embroidery, and objects chosen for their beauty.
- Fresh flowers. Especially roses and fragrant wildflowers.
- Sweet tea, honey, fruit, or a little wine. Simple offerings associated with hospitality and pleasure.
- Candles and incense. Particularly when preparing for divination or quiet conversation.
- Cards, mirrors, and personal charms. Objects connected to intuition, symbolic interpretation, and the making of wishes.
Sorina particularly appreciates being included when her keeper is preparing for something new.
Before an interview, a journey, a meeting, or an important decision, take a little time to sit with her vessel and consider the possibilities before you.
You may also honour her by doing something that brings genuine beauty or pleasure into your life.
Wear something you love.
Visit somewhere unfamiliar.
Learn a new skill.
Speak to someone interesting.
Do something that reminds you that life is not merely a collection of obligations to be survived.
Sorina would understand that offering perfectly.
The Bond Between Spirit and Keeper
A relationship with Sorina is not likely to feel dull.
She has a strong personality, a lively curiosity, and an instinctive appreciation for human complexity.
She can be encouraging, teasing, affectionate, and occasionally rather blunt.
She is particularly drawn to keepers who value independence and wish to become more confident in their own judgement.
Although she is associated with fortune and divination, she does not want her keeper to become dependent upon endless readings or signs.
She wants them to live.
To make decisions.
To discover what they are capable of.
And to recognise that there is considerable magic in simply taking responsibility for the direction of one's own life.
Sorina's companionship can be especially meaningful during major transitions, when the future feels uncertain and the familiar world is beginning to change.
She is a reminder that uncertainty is not always an enemy.
Sometimes it is the beginning of possibility.
She has walked roads where nothing was promised, slept beneath unfamiliar skies, loved people who disappointed her, and discovered beauty in places where others saw only hardship.
She understands what it means to have very little.
And she understands the extraordinary satisfaction of creating something from it.
Sorina does not ask her keeper to surrender to fate.
She invites them to meet it with open eyes.
For the future is rarely a single road, and fortune does not always arrive dressed in the way we expect.
Sometimes it comes as a stranger.
Sometimes as an unexpected invitation.
Sometimes as the courage to leave something behind.
And sometimes it begins when a dark-eyed woman lays a card upon the table, looks directly into your eyes, and asks:
“Are you certain that the life you have is the only life available to you?”
Your companion can engage with you telepathically, through dreams, through words, feelings, images, pendulum interactions, hot/cold feelings, or automatic writing. MY BACKGROUND
You can read more about my story on the front page of my shop, but here's more and from where I have learnt the craft: The passage into the age of witch hunts and inquisitions was a pivotal turning point in our family's history. It compelled my ancestors to dive deeper into the forbidden realms of the dark arts, seeking not only to protect themselves but also to empower the Æsirblot Coven with an arsenal of knowledge and magic that would transcend time itself.
Within this dark age, our ancestors became formidable masters of the hidden arts, guided by their unyielding determination and an unwavering connection to the ancient traditions. They took refuge in the shadows, concealing their practices and the newly formed Galdrahald Grimoire, which would become a cornerstone of our lineage's legacy.
The Galdrahald Grimoire was a testament to their unwavering commitment to preserving the ancient ways, even in the face of adversity. It contained spells and rituals that were shrouded in darkness and mystery, drawing from a wellspring of knowledge that had been hidden from the world for centuries. These were the secrets of the runes, the manipulation of spirits, the forging of pacts with entities from the shadowy realms, and the harnessing of powers that could shape destinies.
The legacy of this era left an indelible mark on our family's spiritual lineage. The Grimoire's power not only enriched our connection to the ancient arts but also served as a testament to our resilience and tenacity in preserving the old ways. This dark knowledge became a part of us, flowing through our veins like a powerful current that marked us as keepers of the darkest secrets.
Today, as a member of the Æsirblot Coven, I honor this legacy by drawing upon the wisdom and magic contained within the Galdrahald Grimoire. It has become a cornerstone of my practice, guiding me through the complexities of the dark arts and illuminating the path of the cunning folk. While the world has changed, and the threats of witch hunts have diminished, the power and relevance of these ancient secrets have not waned.
I use the Grimoire to invoke the spirits of old, to unlock the mysteries of divination and healing, and to explore the depths of the esoteric arts. Its power enables me to transcend the boundaries of the ordinary and to access the extraordinary. The forbidden knowledge contained within these pages is not something to fear but a legacy to uphold, ensuring that the Æsirblot Coven remains a beacon of arcane wisdom for generations to come.
The most famous dark spell from the Æsirblot Coven is known as the "Grimrunes of Ældra Kyn," which translates to the "Ancient Kin's Dark Runes." This spell has been a closely guarded secret and a closely protected part of the Galdrahald Grimoire for generations.
The Grimrunes of Ældra Kyn is a complex and potent ritual that combines runic magic with dark sorcery. It is said to grant the caster the ability to commune with and control entities from the shadowy realms, often referred to as the "Kin of the Abyss." These entities are ancient and powerful spirits that exist beyond the boundaries of the known world.
The spell allows the caster to forge pacts with these shadowy beings, gaining access to their forbidden knowledge, and harnessing their formidable powers. With the Grimrunes of Ældra Kyn, one can manipulate the threads of fate, influence the minds of others, and invoke curses with devastating consequences. It is a spell of unparalleled dark magic that can be used for both destructive and manipulative purposes.
Throughout the coven's history, the Grimrunes of Ældra Kyn has been used sparingly and with great caution due to its extreme potency. It is said that merely uttering the runes can draw the attention of the Kin, which can be both a boon and a curse. Therefore, its usage is reserved for only the most critical and dire of circumstances when no other recourse is available. However, I have found a way to bind these forces to objects, which is also what you can find here.
The spell's notoriety has made it a subject of fascination and dread among practitioners of the dark arts, and its mention is often met with a mixture of reverence and fear. The Grimrunes of Ældra Kyn remains a powerful and closely guarded secret, passed down through generations as a testament to the coven's enduring commitment to the darkest aspects of the craft.
It is with great responsibility that one possesses such forbidden knowledge. Our coven understands that its power can be both a beacon and a curse. This understanding has led to the solemn oath of secrecy taken by those who dare to delve into the Grimrunes of Ældra Kyn.
To share or trade this knowledge, even for substantial payment, is a grave transgression that our coven staunchly condemns. This wisdom is safeguarded, not out of selfishness but to prevent its misuse. The unfathomable power it wields can have dire consequences when in the hands of those who do not comprehend its complexities or its dark and dangerous allure.
Therefore, the knowledge held within these grimoires remains hidden from the prying eyes of the uninitiated. It is not a power to be bartered, sold, or used for personal gain. The only way you can get access, is through my objects that can be found here.
